Enjoy the Now

This moment deserves to be appreciated in real time.

For the first time in Division 1 program history, the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs have won 12 games in a row. After playing Mississippi Valley State Saturday, every team in the SWAC has a loss to the Lady Bulldogs.

National media outlets, mid-major basketball observers, and the internet at large are taking notice. Praise is pouring in, what Nick Saban famously calls “rat poison.” But the attention isn’t misplaced. This team is playing well, and it is being coached well.

Living in the moment matters, because right now is special.

As things stand today, the Lady Bulldogs sit atop the SWAC standings, own the longest Division I winning streak in program history, have gone 12-1 against conference competition, and rank second in attendance. That combination of success, momentum, and support doesn’t come around often and there’s no guarantee it ever will again.

Yes, the road to the SWAC Tournament is still long and the road to the championship game is longer. There’s more work to be done. But pausing to celebrate these milestones along the way? That feels good, and it’s earned.
